“Waiting for Godot”, produced by Exprésate Dominicano, under the direction of Manuel Chapuseaux, will close the the cycle of presentations of the First Banreservas Theater Season dedicated to the theater artist Iván García Guerra.
With performances on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 at 8:30 p.m., and on Sunday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m., in the Ravelo Hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater, the play features performances by Patricio León, Pepe Sierra, Canek Denis, Noel Ventura and Josué Hirujo.
With the dramaturgy of the Irishman Samuel Beckett, it tells the story of two characters, Vladimir and Estragón, miserable nomads, who stop in an inhospitable place, where only a tree without leaves remains. there They wait for Godot’s arrival, but while they talk, and between saying and not saying anything, they see time go by, and nothing happens. Dialogues become repetitive, boredom wears them down and life loses meaning.
Under the auspices of the Banreservas Cultural Center and the general production of Guillermo Cordero, this first season constituted a great success. an important platform for Dominican theatrical producers and actors, since it was conceived as an annual sample of independent theater, an initiative whose main objective is to stimulate theatrical creation in the country.
