After the notch, then the small bubbles to the front camera, the next trend in the market of smartphones is expected to be the hidden camera under the screen. In essence, this new technology allows you to place the camera for the selfies as a part of the screen that can become transparent when it is desired to use the sensor.
And obviously, the first brand that will use this innovation will be the chinese ZTE. It is in any case what is stated by an article published this week by our colleagues from XDA. This publication asserts that the upcoming models of the chinese brand, the ZTE A20 5G, will be the first model equipped with a front-facing camera below the screen. For the moment, we don’t know what it will look like this smartphone, and it is still uncertain its data sheet.
However, the model would have already made an appearance on a site certification chinese. And obviously, it will be the successor of a high-end model that ZTE has launched in 2020.
Currently, ZTE does not have as much market share as other chinese manufacturers like Huawei, Xiaomi or Oppo. But the fact of being the first to offer a smartphone with a camera hidden under the screen could give more visibility to the brand.
Xiaomi, Oppo, and other manufacturers were considering also to use the same technology
Prior to the announcement from ZTE, Xiaomi and Oppo have already mentioned the development of a smartphone with a camera hidden under the screen. But until now, these two companies have not yet mentioned the launch of this technology on a commercial model.
