It is known that metabolic problems such as obesity and type 2 diabetes are associated with an increased risk of covid-19, as well as an increased severity of the disease. Now, a study published last Tuesday (7), in the scientific journal Gut, reveals that following a diet rich in vegetables can protect against the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
Interestingly, as shown by the American newspaper The Harvard Gazette, the beneficial effects of a diet based on healthy foods, especially plants, are more relevant in people living in poorer regions.
