In the Dutch Grand Prix Fernando Alonso was once again the protagonist of a splendid weekend, which ended with the sixth position in the race. An unexpected placement considering the starting position of the Asturian – ninth on the grid – and the difficulty in overtaking on the spectacular but narrow track of Zandvoort. Alonso was ‘forced’ to make the most of himself and his Alpine up to the checkered flag, managing to get the better of his compatriot Carlos Sainz, in an all-Spanish derby, only in the last round of the race. Curiously, Alonso, who was lapped by the leader of the Verstappen race, also ran some risks in the last meters of the race, finding himself in the middle of the celebrations of the public orange, who was celebrating the house idol.

Via radio, with his usual irony, Alonso did not fail to underline the particularity of the situation: “I guess Verstappen won? There is some orange fog “ commented the Asturian, referring to the many smoke bombs of that color lit by the public on the steps. “Affirmative, be careful with that orange mist” the box replied in return, fearful of losing a fundamental placement for the French team’s classification. Then, once the finish line was crossed, the party could begin for yet another double points placement of the Alonso-Ocon couple.
