Angelina Jolie refuses to accept Brad Pitt’s request to divide evenly the time they spend with Pax, Zahara, Knox, Vivienne and Shiloh – Maddox is now of age.
It has been four years since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie put an end to their marriage after spending more than a decade together. However, at the close of that chapter a tough legal battle began between them and continues today. In the middle of the process in which they hope to reach an agreement related to the custody of the children they have in common, Jolie was no longer represented by Priya Sopori, who worked hand in hand with the actress’s main lawyer, Samantha Bley Dejean .
According to the tabloid Daily Mail , it is unknown if the Oscar winner fired her or, on the contrary, it was the lawyer, who is a partner of the prestigious law firm Greenberg Glusker LLP and a former federal prosecutor, who has decided to resign from this case. This change in the legal team of the actress has already been notified in the Superior Court of Los Angeles .
The publication claims that the actress’s determination to get what she wants at trial would have been hardened, making Sopori an obstacle . In fact, they also cite a source close to the interpreter who would have assured that she is not going to back down and will continue to fight fiercely to ensure that her ex does not obtain joint custody of the five minors.
“ Angelina has fought tooth and nail to get what she wants in this divorce. When it comes to your children, you won’t back down. He is paying his legal team a fortune, so if he thinks one of his lawyers has to leave, he will not hesitate to pull the trigger, “ the informant told the aforementioned media.
Since the divorce d e Jolie and Pitt began in September 2016, one of the most important factors in the battle of the former couple for custody it has been the desire to Jolie to transfer children to England, something that the actor vehemently objects. He also asks for an equitable sharing of time with them.
Pitt, 56, lives in Los Angeles and wants her children to attend classes in person and not continue studying at home , a decision that Jolie has made unilaterally without taking into account the wishes of her ex-husband.

At the beginning of this month the final “round” of the trial began, and the couple have not hesitated to have their entire arsenal of contacts and to turn to experts and friends to testify on their behalf.
“There are a lot of people on Brad’s side who are ready to offer testimony about his devotion as a father,” a person close to the actor told Star magazine a few weeks ago. “His family is in front, but Jennifer Aniston, Alia Shawkat and many other celebrities are with him ”.
This is not the first time Jolie has made changes in legal defense. Two years ago, in 2018, he got rid of his then lawyer Laura Wasser, who had represented other celebrities such as Johnny Depp and Ashton Kutcher. As it turned out, Jolie’s belligerent attitude toward her ex did not fit in well with Wasser’s friendlier and more conciliatory approach.
In mid-August, Jolie asked the Los Angeles Superior Court of Justice to challenge John W. Ouderkirk, the judge in charge of her divorce, for having joint business with Brad’s attorney. His request was not accepted and the magistrate continues to lead this media process.

Jolie, 45, and Pitt were a couple for 12 years and were married for two when the American actress filed for divorce in 2016 citing “irreconcilable differences.” After announcing their separation, Jolie accused her husband of mistreating their son Maddox during a family flight, using drugs and having self-control problems.
Due to the statements of his former partner, the actor publicly acknowledged his alcoholism. “He drank a lot. It became a problem, ”he said in an interview in 2017. Since then he has remained sober.
The actors, who went through the altar in 2014, hired the services of a private judge to keep the documents and personal and financial details of their divorce in complete privacy. This process was formalized in 2019 after his lawyers asked for a “bifurcated trial” , which allows two married people to declare single even if their divorce remains unresolved.
