The women’s 100-meter world record is finally under threat after 33 years.
Jamaica Elaine Thompson-Herah confirmed the speed of Eugene’s renowned track on Saturday with a winning time of 10.54.
The new Olympic champion became the second fastest woman in history in her Diamond League victory and only five hundredths of a U.S. Florence Griffith-Joynerin Of the 33-year-old ME time, 10.49.
“Returning to the Games in record time after the Games is incredible. It means a lot because my job is to inspire an entire generation. I still have races, so I’m not too excited. We have to keep working, ”Thompson-Herah said.

Eugene’s competition was also likely to have won the U.S. Olympic qualifiers Sha’Carri Richardsonin return to the tracks, but he missed last in the fast on time with a time of 11.14.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was running second with a time of 10.73, and Shericka Jackson secured Jamaica’s triple victory with a time of 10.76.
Men 200 meters Olympic bronze medalist Noah Lyles rushed to victory at the top of the season at 19.52. Olympic silver medalist Kenny Bednarek at the time of 19.80 and the brother of Noah Josephus Lyles with a time of 20.03 completed the U.S. triple victory. Lyles thanked the viewers.

Women’s 1,500m Double Olympic Winner, Kenya Faith Kipyegon improved the trip to peak time readings of 3.53.23, and a teammate Joshua Cheptegei ran the top of the season in the two-mile race on 8.09.55.
The wildest result of the field sports was crammed into the ME man of the shot put and the Olympic winner Ryan Crouser. He won the race with nearly a meter and a half with a score of 23.15.
Crouser still fell 22 cents off the world record he set in June.
The World Championships in Athletics will be held in Eugene next year.
