Pandemic coronavirus struck even Emoji. The Unicode consortium is responsible for the standards of emoticons and start a new one, carries out a new package for six months – 2022.
The consortium said that the Emoji are usually approved in the January before they are available for all devices in September. But because of the pandemic, there will be a delay – this means that iPhone and Android users will not see the new emojis in 2021.
“We have decided that it is in the interests of our volunteers and organizations that comply with the standards, and moved the release date,” – said the representative of the Unicode mark Davis (Mark Davis).
The current set that are part of the Unicode standard 13.0, includes 117 new animated characters, it will be fully available this fall.
