Queen Máxima is allowed to blow out almost fifty candles, and that must of course be celebrated. On the day before her birthday, she therefore throws a party for the whole of the Netherlands with a musical show on NPO 1.
On May 16 – Máxima’s birthday is on May 17 – various well-known artists will perform together with children from the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam, AVROTROS reports Thursday.

Buddy Vedder has the honor of making the program Queen Maximum: A Life of Music to present. Among others Tania Kross, Jeroen van der Boom, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Emma Heesters, Glen Faria and Roel van Velzen will show their faces. Also bandeonist Carel Kraayenhof – the instigator of Máxima’s famous tear on her wedding day – is there.
