During the last months, several projects related to DC Comics have seen the light and others have been announced as the next titles in theaters. In this way, we have not only witnessed the great filmic event that the launch of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad represented, it is also known that the Peacemaker series has already finished its filming. For his part, Xolo Maridueña will be Blue Beetle in his own solo film, among other novelties.
Now, a new update puts a villain back from the DCEU in the public eye. As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max to develop a Black Canary movie. The spin-off, a spin-off story from Birds of Prey (starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn), will feature Jurnnee Smollett reprising his role from the big screen.
Likewise, it has been reported that Misha green, recognized for her work on the acclaimed series Lovecraft country, will be in charge of the film’s script; while Sue kroll He will produce the feature film under his signature Kroll & Co. Entertainment, which has also produced Birds of Prey. However, it has not yet been detailed who will be in charge of directing the film. In addition, no greater scope has been revealed in terms of the plot.
As you remember, the Black canary de Smollett was first featured in Birds of prey as Dinah lance, a burlesque singer – a literary art – who rescues Harley Quinn from an attempted kidnapping. She later becomes the driver of crime lord Roman Sionis (Ewan McGregor), whom she ultimately betrays to give way to her true metahuman ability: screaming on a supersonic level.
