BundesligaFSV Mainz has again added three points in the Bundesliga. Last season’s Dutch-tinged relegation candidate beat German PhD student Greuther Fürth 3-0 and rose to fifth place in the league.
With this, Mainz continued the unprecedented advance in the Bundesliga. Last season, the team of Jean-Paul Boëtius and Jeremiah St. Juste had to fear relegation for a long time, but a series of victories prevented that. Mainz is still on the right track this season. Thanks to two victories in three duels, the low flyer has nestled nicely in the subtop.
Boëtius and St. Juste were given a starting spot against Greuther Fürth and thus contributed to the simple victory. It was secured after eighteen minutes, when Adam Szalai doubled the score. Three minutes before that, Anderson Lucoqui had already opened the scoring on behalf of Mainz. Kevin Stöger made it 3-0 in injury time. The newly promoted Greuther Fürth therefore has to wait at least a week for the victory.
Baker
Bayer Leverkusen has secured the German lead for at least a day. The team of Mitchel Bakker and Jeremie Frimpong received a lot of help from opponent FC Augsburg. The home team scored twice in their own goal within fifteen minutes, which quickly gave Leverkusen a 0-2 lead. Bakker also participated in the error festival. The left back had plenty of time to clear a ball, but hit the ball completely wrong and saw Florian Niederlechner take advantage.

As a result, Leverkusen had to fear for a loss of points for a long time, but Patrik Schick settled that fifteen minutes before the end. Last summer’s Czech Orange executioner helped his team to a 1-3 lead after 75 minutes, after which top talent Florian Wirtz finally determined the final score. The midfielder rounded the goalkeeper and hit from a difficult angle.
