La Voz del Yuna
A must stop to rediscover history, culture and the foundations of Dominican communication is the Museo de la Voz del Yuna , opened on August 1, 1942, one of the first radio stations in the Dominican Republic.
The structure where it is today installed was built in 2015 by the Ecotourism Development Council of Monseñor Nouel, and houses three spaces: The station, the museum, and the memory room. A guided tour through the history of the station, together with the appreciation of objects used in its beginnings, is undoubtedly a journey through time… Seeing a megaphone jukebox from 1906 in operation (a device used to play records); observe the machine The writing station used to write the station’s script and even the small fan that was used in the cabin, along with other musical instruments, are part of the museum’s attractions.

Plaza de la Cultura Museum
The current Plaza de la Cultura Museum was initially (1987) a proposal by the teacher Cándido Bidó, a native of Bonao, who together with a group of townspeople created the museum. a modest center to train children and young people in the arts. Due to the work that there it was done woke up the interest of the older ones and it became a school that also welcomed adults. By 1992 it became in a cultural square that concentrates art school, museum and cultural center, becoming a plural center that welcomes all the arts of the North region.
Since you step on the sidewalks of the square you come into contact with art, appreciating in the exterior spaces the captivating and characteristic color that characterizes the work of the master of plastic arts, Cándido Bidó.
It has three levels that house a rich artistic collection with diverse works. In the first you can see the Temporary Exhibition and in the second, the Permanent Collection; in both, the visitor will be able to Delight yourself with works inspired by Taíno, African, Latin American and national art. Among these, works by respected masters of the arts such as Fernando Ureña Read, Guillo Pérez, Elsa Núñez, Antonio Guadalupe, Juan Medina, Machacho Hernández, among others, stand out. And on the third level is the Retrospective Collection of master Cándido Bidó, a compilation of his works from the 1950s to those made shortly before his death.
It also exhibits interesting Taino archaeological remains; drawings, pieces carved in wood and others in clay. In the outer courtyard is the training center where they teach courses on music, dance, painting, among other expressions of the fine arts. Open to the public from Monday to Friday.
Casa Museo de Cristian Tiburcio
It is a family home where art literally lives. A space whose peculiarity is noticeable even without having entered, since its exterior walls are covered with thousands of “ceramic chips”, announcing the preamble of what is inside.
< br />Cristian Tiburcio never imagined that what, at first, would be his family home, would eventually become a museum. The artist began embellishing a window with colored ceramics that were harmoniously placed. Then he decided cover the door, the columns, the kitchen… And so, without intending to, the whole house became a house. in art.
The house amazed the friends and family who visited him, the word spread and every day, more people wanted to enter to see Tiburcio’s colorful creations, marked due to the influence of the teacher Cándido Bidó, with whom he spent many years. 25 years learning and working.
All the trousseau in the house has been turned into art. The stairs, the doors, the ceiling, the blender… even the toilet are impregnated with Tiburcio’s artistic expression, making the visitor live an almost unreal experience. It is currently being developing a project to create a giant sculpture garden outside the house.
