Nothing sneaky

The first thing that catches the attention of the Realme X7 Max 5G is its design, which has little to disguise. The device has a back available in black, pink and silver with glossy finishes on the left side stripe. In it we find the camera module and the name of the company in a kind of stamp with a holographic finish.

The device weighs 179 grams and is 8.4 millimeters thick, so it is not particularly thick or heavy. It has a USB type C port and a 3.5 mm jack, something that is no longer seen every day. The fingerprint reader, meanwhile, has been carried under the screen, despite the fact that lately it is more common to find it on a side button.

As for the screen, Realme has by no means fallen short. Its new high-end mounts a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) and a 120 Hz refresh rate, something that is usually reserved for higher-priced terminals. The sampling or touch refresh rate is 360 Hz.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 under the hood

So we move on to the internal components. The Realme X7 Max 5G mounts a processor MediaTek Dimensity 1200, thus being one of the first to mount it outside of China. It is a six nanometer processor with eight cores at a maximum speed of 3 GHz and the Mali G77 MC9 GPU that comes accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.

All this is given life by a 4,500 mAh battery with 50W SuperDart fast charge. According to Realme, in just 16 minutes it is capable of charging up to 50% of the battery. The operating system is Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0. Other additions are a haptic vibration motor for games, the NFC or the compatibility with WiFi 6.

Finally, let’s talk about the camera. The Realme X7 Max 5G mounts a main sensor 64 megapixel Sony IMX686 (which will take 16 megapixel photos automatically thanks to Pixel Binning), an eight megapixel wide angle and a two megapixel macro. It records in 4K at 60 FPS, has EIS and supports slow motion recording at 960 FPS. The front camera is 16 megapixels.
