A couple of days ago it was announced that the State Administration of Radio and Television of China was not going to allow the appearance of “effeminate men” in the anime. Now, to continue with these ridiculous demands, this government now wishes that the productions that arrive in your country do not offer any type of sexual or violent content.
Recently, the State Administration of Radio and Television of China issued a statement in which it pointed out that the animes that will arrive in this country should not contain any type of content that can be considered violent, sexual and vulgar. The government has indicated that this type of entertainment is consumed mainly by minors, so content that promotes “true goodness” should be transmitted to them.
This is not the first time that something like this has happened, as the government has put pressure on different institutions to meet these requirements. At the end of the day, all of this falls to animation studios in Japan. Considering that China represents a large part of the Asian market, there is the possibility that some companies will start to self-censor to comply with these demands.

Nevertheless, it is quite possible that animation studios simply ignore these requests, and continue to focus on the public in Japan and internationally, where this type of problem does not become a topic of government discussion. We can only wait and see how this case will evolve.
