On a day conditioned by rain and the suspension of the program for a few hours, the blue flag flies in Cincinnati, in the Atp Masters 1000 tournament of the pre-US Open American hardcourt. Camila Giorgi, fresh winner of the Masters 1000 in Montreal, immediately leaves the scene from the women’s tournament. The blue n.34 of the WTA ranking was eliminated with a double 6-2 6-2 by the American Jessica Pegula (# 26) who had just beaten in Canada. Also eliminated Jasmine Paolini (n.101) who after being promoted from qualifying lost 6-3 6-2 to the Russian Veronika Kudermetova (n.32).
