Some people may blame their DNA for making them more likely to contract COVID-19 or become seriously ill if they become infected. A study of over 45,000 people, on COVID 19, discovered 13 genetic variants linked to an increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection or a greater chance of developing serious disease, according to the researchers (July 8 in Nature). The team includes more than 3,300 researchers in 25 countries.
