Luca De Meo continues with his restructuring campaign for the Renault group, and this time completes the acquisition of a manager who knows well thanks to the sharing of the same career path. The French company has in fact announced the appointment of Josep Maria Recasens, a former Seat executive, in charge of the Group’s strategy and business development. He will also be senior vice-president.
Recasens was the general secretary and chief strategy officer of Seat, a brand of the Volkswagen group. He has been part of the Spanish company for a long time, since 2002. Engineer, he held positions of responsibility in the research and development department and actively participated in the launch of the Seat Ateca SUV. With the latest roles at Seat, Recasens has followed the digitization of the brand.
Within Renault, however, his focus will be on the group’s mobility and related services: probable a role within Mobilize and more broadly in the context of the Renaulution strategy signed by De Meo. Within the chessboard of the French company he will replace Laurent Rossi, who has in the meantime been placed at the head of the Alpine brand.
