Gary Medel and Bologna suffered heavy braking in Serie A in Italy. The Chilean and his squad lost a categorical 6-1 against Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium and cut a streak of three consecutive victories in the competition.
The two-time champion of América con la Roja was the protagonist, as he faced Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez throughout the first half and they had a tense altercation where the referee showed both of them a yellow card. The Chilean told him: “I’ll wait for you later, outside.”
This whole situation caused the “Pitbull” to leave at halftime, which was confirmed by the coach of the rossoblu cast, Thiago Motta, who took advantage of criticizing the national.
“Yes, he came out because he was warned and excessively aggressive, he was nervous to the limit” , expressed the Bologna strategist.
“The card had him conditioned, but I expect a better handling of these situations from an experienced player like him. It’s important to us”, he added.
Now the Rossoblu squad will seek to recover when they host Sassuolo this Saturday, in the last game of Serie A before the break for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
