Editorial Policy
How we research, write, update and correct our articles.
Readers make real decisions with their money based on what we publish. These principles guide our work.
Accuracy
We check facts, figures and rules against primary sources, such as official agency publications, before publication. When a number depends on a date, a country or a product, we say so in the article.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by our editors. Nothing we publish is changed to please an advertiser or a company we write about. If an article ever includes affiliate links or sponsored content, we will label it clearly.
Plain language
We explain terms the first time we use them and prefer concrete examples to jargon.
Updates and corrections
Money rules change. We review articles regularly and show an “Updated” date when we change them in a meaningful way. If we find an error, we fix it promptly and note the correction. To report one, use the contact page.
Not personal advice
Our articles are general education and not financial, tax or legal advice for your situation. See about for more.
