A tour through Europe aboard a supercar sounds like a thrilling and unforgettable experience. An opportunity to visit splendid places aboard a racing car that transmits driving emotions that only certain models can convey. This is what a group of European motorists thought when they decided to organize a trip across the Old Continent aboard their sports cars, including some Ferrari. Yet this group of wealthy enthusiasts must have forgotten a fundamental rule, respect the speed limits. Two specimens of the Red of Maranello were in fact intercepted by the Cantonal Police on the Simplon Pass for having exceeded the permitted speed by far, proceeding at over 150 km / h in a section where the limit is 80 km / h.
According to reports from local law enforcement, the patrols have carried out a series of targeted checks on the Simplon and Grimsel after becoming aware of this tour privately organized by some supercar owners. The agents thus stopped two Ferrari owners, a Norwegian and a Swede, who broke the speed limits on their journey through the Alps. Both reckless motorists were stopped by the Cantonal Police who imposed two fines of several thousand francs. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, two orders to prohibit driving were issued against the two reckless drivers. As reported by the Corriere del Ticino, in the days of targeted checks on the two Alpine passes, the police intercepted other tour participants who broke the limits set by law, with over 17 speeding infringements imposed on motorists and motorcyclists.
