This came after rescuers managed to penetrate further into the site after demolishing a dilapidated section of the building, which had partially collapsed 13 days ago.
The disaster occurred in the oceanic town of Surfside, Florida, near Miami Beach.
The search for victims continues despite the approach of Storm Elsa, which is expected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast in Florida on Wednesday.
