Former American world champion Floyd Mayweather will once again get into a ring on February 28 , as confirmed by the organizers of the Mega2021 wrestling event to be held at the Tokyo Dome Stadium in the Japanese capital.
Although he still does not know his rival or how much money he will receive, the promoters of the fight meeting confirmed his presence. Money , a 43-year-old boxing legend and champion in six different categories, retired in 2017 after beating mixed arts star Conor McGregor for $ 275 million.
The former fighter also made an exhibition in 2018 in Tokyo with the young kickboxer, T enshin Nasukawa , whom he defeated in just 2 minutes.
“ I know the Olympics are in Tokyo in 2021. Me and my team will do something great there. Japan, here we go ”, he assured in his official Instagram account when confirming his presence in the contest.
The organizers of the February meeting have not yet said who will be Mayweather's rival or the bag of money that corresponds to him, although last May Money had warned that he would not get into a ring again for less than 600 million dollars.
It should be noted that the American retired undefeated and recently donated money so that the poorest in his country can feed themselves during the quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.
” I want to help make this world a better place, the money that I will donate will be to feed those most in need, ” said the former champion of the WBC Super Featherweight, WBC Super Lightweight, WBC Welter and IBF Welter and WBC Superwlter categories.
The former boxer, who did not lose in 50 fights and beat Argentine Marcos Maidana twice, remarked: “ All of this affected me, it hurts me to see what is happening in the world and I want all of us to support each other and continue to have faith. Nobody is perfect, I am not. Every day I try to be a better person, I make mistakes and the only thing I can do is try to improve ”.
“ I don't want to show people what I do, I do it anonymously, it has nothing to do with money, I am going to donate them to the most needy and I will do it without talking about it, the important thing for me is to do good for the people of the world ”, he had assured when the pandemic was established.
