The top two in the World Cup series crashed in Monza on Sunday.
Formula 1 series the most talked about moment of Sunday’s Monza race in Italy was the top two in the World Series Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton crash. Now new video material has been published on the situation.
Red Bull’s Verstappen tried to overtake Mercedes driver Hamilton after this tire change in the track opening curves, but the attempt failed.
Verstappen’s car got right on top of Hamilton’s car, and the Dutchman’s rear tire hit Hamilton’s helmet.

F1 series released a video on Tuesday night that offered a new perspective on events. The video shot from the front of the car shows that the hit is really drastic.
Fortunately for Hamilton, cars today have halo safety curves. He said he suffered from neck pain after the race, but without the safety bar, hitting would have had significantly more devastating consequences.
Both had to suspend the race, which was won by McLaren Daniel Ricciardo before his teammate Lando Norrisia and Mercedes Valtteri Bottasta.
Verstappen leads the World Championships by five points to Hamilton. The World Championship series will continue on September 26 with Russian gp.
Verstappen was found guilty of the crash and received a three-way penalty for the Russian race.
