Directed by Sean S. Cunningham, Friday the 13th – known in Spanish-speaking countries as Friday the 13th – hit the big screen in 1980. Classified as a slasher, a subgenre of horror movies, the story frightened millions of people with a protagonist hidden under a hockey mask named Jason voorhees, who became an icon of popular culture.

In fact, its arrival in theaters caused a huge success among fans and casual consumers of horror, as its plot made its way through 12 installments. The last one was released in 2009 and, although it performed better than some of its predecessors, critics considered it a “rehash.”

Friday the 13th, part VI: Jason lives (48%) – 1986
Tommy Jarvis goes to the graveyard to dispose of Jason Voorhees’ body once and for all, but inadvertently brings it back to life. The newly revived assassin seeks revenge again and the young man may be the only one capable of defeating him.
Freddy vs. Jason (41%) – 2003
Freddy still has one more plan to get back to Elm Street: resurrect Jason Voorhees and send him to wreak havoc to fuel his existence. Nonetheless, Krueger decides it’s time to take down Voorhees, while Lori and Will are in the crossfire, both with a shared history with whoever fed on their dreams.
Friday the 13th, part VII: the new blood (33%) – 1988
After Jason Vorhees was chained to the bottom of Camp Crystal Lake by Tommy Jarvis, Tina Shepherd accidentally kills her father with her telekinetic powers in the same place. Years later, the young woman and her mother return to the camp, where her doctor tries to manipulate her abilities for his own evil plans. Therefore, the teenager decides to resurrect her father, but accidentally wakes Jason up. Now it’s up to Sheperd to use his gifts to stop Jason and his medic.
Friday the 13th, part 2 (28%) – 1981
Paul Holt opens a counselor training center at Packanack Lodge, near the former Camp Crystal Lake. After once again ignoring the warnings, the killings begin anew. But as the legend goes, did Jason really drown or didn’t he? Is there a reason these murders happen?
