CANNES film FESTIVAL 2016 69EME FESTIVAL MARCHES JULIETA PEDRO ALMODOVAR, GUY BEDOS By Nina Siahpoush-Royoux
Guy Bedos, who died on the 28th of may last, was released in 2015 a book of which the title is strangely echoed in the disease, neuro-degenerative which it was reached.
Thursday, may 28, 2020, Nicolas Bedos announced with emotion on his account of Instagram that his father Guy Bedos has made his last breath at the age of 85 years. From his side, on the same day, in an article published in The nouvel obs, the journalist Jérôme Garcin revealed that the famous comedian was affected by Alzheimer’s disease. According to his words, Guy Bedos “no longer acknowledged his own, nor he himself”, so he did not cry last may 24, the death of his dear friend, Jeau-Loup Dabadie.
September 9, 2015, the actor came out with a new book titled” I’ll remember everything – Diary of a mélancomique editions Fayard. In this latter, autobiographical, Guy Bedos told of his past, his meetings, his stories of love, raised his children, his experience of the scene, but also the politics of the day. The least we can say is that this title is somewhat surprising, since, in summary, Guy Bedos is described as a “suicidal, that lingers”, the shared “between the life that reassures him and the death that seduces”. It is now legitimate to ask if the actor, known for his black humour, had decided to leave a last written record of his passage on earth, thus making it a foot from nose to his own illness.
A disease is accomplished through the use of humour
In 2013, Guy Bedos was saying farewell to the audience during a show at the Olympia. With his straight-talking as usual, he had given the reason for which he had to work. “Damn, I have a hole, it is for this reason that I stop !”, he explained, before laughing of his disease, proving that only humor will have the last word : “Alzheimer’s, it has three advantages : there are no bad memories, no one sees that new heads and… it has no bad memories !”
