A few days ago, Microsoft was forced to announce the postponement to 2021 Halo Infinite, supposed to accompany the launch of the Xbox Series X in November. A decision to be cruel for the fans, but logical and mostly reasonable in light of the gameplay video shown by Microsoft a few weeks ago, with a Halo Infinite, which seemed to be far from finalized (at least we hope…).

Halo Infinite is about to become… a game episodic !

On the occasion of a broadcast on Twitch, the iconic boss of the division of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has held back on development, obviously very complicated, this new Halo Infinite. The latter explains as well have taken the” right decision “ in regard to the postponement of the game. Indeed, like a Final Fantasy VII Remake, Microsoft and 343 Industries have one time thought of making Halo Infinite… a game episodic. Thus, a first part of the game could be ready for the launch of the Xbox Series X, with possibly a Halo Infinite Episode 2 launched at the end of the following year, etc etc… However, this idea ” does not fit with the output that we had in mind for a Halo game ” says Phil Spencer.

At the present time, Halo Infinite is expected for 2021, without more of precision. Recall that 343 Industries has recently teamed up with another studio, Sperasoft, to help continue the development of the game. We are now waiting to know when will be available the one that had to be the ambassador for next-gen Xbox Series X, and (especially) if the latter will prove more convincing in his next presentation, knowing that it will be pretty hard to do worse than the recent gameplay reveal of the month of July…
