According to Berlin’s Governing Mayor Michael Müller (SPD), people in Germany can still have themselves tested for the corona virus free of charge until mid-October.
Berlin – “I assume: This free offer will be canceled from mid-October,” said Müller as chairman of the Prime Minister’s Conference (MPK) in the ZDF “Morgenmagazin” before the deliberations of the round on Tuesday.
Müller named October 10th or 11th as the very likely changeover date. “Then everyone has eight weeks to get vaccinated from now on. If you unfortunately do not take advantage of this offer, you will have to pay for the tests. ” Exceptions are people who cannot be vaccinated against Corona, pregnant women and children. The basis of advice for the conference will be antigen tests. Müller called PCR tests “the next level of escalation”.

According to Müller’s expectation, the so-called 3G rule will remain in place. Thereafter, only those people who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative are allowed to attend events. “It’s going in that direction that we stick with the 3G. If you cannot prove with a vaccination that you are safe for others, you have to do it with a test. “
According to Müller, quarantine obligations should be relaxed or lifted for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. “You will no longer have to be in quarantine when you return home.” For the interiors of hotels and restaurants or for events, binding test certificates are necessary, said Müller. “Shopping will be exempt from this.” However, as in local public transport, the mask requirement applies.
