Hideo Kojima is a volcano of ideas in continuous eruption: a few days ago, the eclectic developer told about a hypothetical project starring Mads Mikkelsen, former actor in his previous title, Death Stranding. This video game would be called Mads Max.
Although it is in effect a dream, a fictional project, the fans could not help but try to imagine the setting, the gameplay and the story of the game, knowing only the name.
After seeing how his fictional project was making the rounds of the network, Kojima decided to increase the dose, revealing some extra details about Mads Max.
First, the developer revealed that despite the similar name, his Mads Max would have no connection with the well-known film. Mad Max. No survival in a post-apocalyptic desert world, then.

On the contrary, in Kojima’s mind, Mads Max should be a “buddy cop” style video game, set in the near future.
“Mads Max has been in the news for some time, but this was just the result of a chat. Also, some people have misunderstood the working title, so I’d like to add something about it. My project is not an apocalyptic story set in the desert, but a buddy cop set in the near future. Despite this, George Miller, the director of Mad Max, is still my ‘God’.“.

For the uninitiated, the “buddy cop” films are the category that have, as protagonists, a couple of characters, usually policemen, with diametrically opposite characteristics and personalities. Misunderstandings, divergent reactions, quarrels and the like are the main source of the comic gags on which this genre of comedy is based.
Among the films that embody the buddy cop spirit we can mention Bad Boys, Rush Hours, Miami Vice, Men in Black And Lethal Weapon, but also some films of Bud Spencer And Terence Hill fully fall into the category.
What do you think? Would you play this hypothetical Mads Max if it existed?
