There is still hope of seeing new ones Honda NSX on the road. After the rumors of a possible final farewell to the model, supported by the special Type S series limited to only 350 units, here comes official confirmations on a third generation of the Japanese super sports car which should be fully electric. The statements regarding a new version of NSX come directly from one of the project managers of the Japanese sports car, Jon Ikeda, vice president of Acura.
The top manager talked about the current generation of NSX, explaining that it is not a swan song and that there will certainly be a new generation. It is not clear whether the future Honda NSX it will only be offered in certain markets, as is currently the case, or the sale will be extended globally. What is certain is that a new version of the Japanese sports car will be there and that it could be totally electric, as can be seen from the words of Ikeda: “The first generation was gasoline. The second generation was a hybrid. There will be another (generation of NSX, ed). ” The announcement of a third generation underlining the type of propulsion that characterized the previous ones suggests that the Japanese car manufacturer is ready to embrace total electrification on one of its most fascinating models. A full electric Honda / Acura NSX would be in line with the brand’s sustainable mobility development programs, offering a new interpretation of the concept of performance and driving pleasure through electric. However, we will have to wait until the next few months to understand what Honda’s intentions will be and how the future of NSX will unfold.
