In the Czech Republic in the town of Bohumin in an apartment building caught fire, which killed 11 people. Six people died in a fire, and five others — by jumping from the balcony of the 11th floor while trying to escape from the fire. Ten people were injured, including two firefighters and a police officer. Two of them are in hospital in serious condition.
According to witnesses, the fire spread very quickly. This has raised suspicions that it could be burned. Later, after the elimination of fire firefighters and the police said traces of combustible materials.
“We can confirm that the place had traces of the accelerator (combustion), so it was such a rapid spread of fire”, — said the representative of the fire service Lukas Popp.
According to witnesses, the apartment celebrated, during which there was a conflict. It is not known how many people were in the apartment before the fire, but some managed to move to the balcony of a neighboring apartment and to escape from the fire.
Police have detained a man suspected of arson.
