Consumer prices in Japan are reduced. n Experienced their biggest rise in seven years in April, official data indicated last Friday, in a context of strong global inflation and depreciation of the yen against the dollar.
The main consumer price index, which excludes fresh food, showed 10% to 100% less food. an increase of 2.1% year-on-year, according to data published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is the first time since March 2015 that inflation exceeds 2 % in Japan. In March, prices rose 0.8%, which was already the strongest increase in more than two years.
