This May 27 the singer Julión Álvarez left the black list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States Department of the Treasury. It should be remembered that he was integrated in 2017 for being an alleged front man for a businessman linked to drug trafficking and that in 2018 he was linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) , due to the link between its promoter and this criminal group.

The authorities also added three of his companies to the list: JCAM EDITORA MUSICAL, S.A. DE C.V., NORYBAN PRODUCTIONS, S.A. DE C.V. and TICKET TICKET, S.A. DE C.V., which have also been removed from the list, according to official information from OFAC.

It should be noted that in 2018, the same unit targeted his former promoter, Jesús Pérez Alvear, for money laundering and for being involved in a prostitution ring. He was accused of using the Mexican music industry to support the illicit activities of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and Los Cuinis. The accusations further damaged the image of the Chiapas artist.

At a press conference, the celebrity said: “Today we obtain a letter where the name of Julio César Álvarez Montelongo is mentioned, complying with all the requirements to be excluded from the OFAC list, to be able to reactivate my financial activities like any other person or like any other company does on a daily basis. Even with American people and companies.”

With this resolution, his legal team will be able to initiate operations so that Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda can return to digital platforms.
