Lactose-free milk has become popular on grocery store shelves, as milk sugar intolerance may be more common than we realize. As the UOL portal disclosed, around 60% to 70% of the population has some level of difficulty in ingesting lactose.
On the other hand, cows go through a painful process to ‘offer’ enough milk to the consumer, so a company in California is trying to combat this sad reality. ‘Perfect Day’ is a line of milk-based products grown in the laboratory, which includes ice cream, yogurt and lactose-free milk.
