In anticipation of new models, Lamborghini has developed a lot of special versions, mainly based on the now retired Aventador. Just think of the Countach, the Sian and the Ultimae, to name just three. The Lamborghini Huracan is again available as STO, short for Super Trofeo Omologato. But it doesn’t stop there, because this Rayo made its debut at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court.
Well, this Rayo is not a calf from the bull stable of Sant’Agata Bolognese, but a remarkable creation by 7X Design based on the Lamborghini Huracan 610-4. Looking for extra aerodynamic efficiency, the Rayo gets a long-tail body, like McLaren does on the hardcore LT models from Woking.
Almost 500 km/h?
The body of the Rayo not only gets a longer rear, the nose section also gets a new design. Note the headlights that appear to wear eyelashes, a design nod to the Lamborghini Miura. These aerodynamic adjustments have a particularly favorable effect on the drag coefficient of the Lamborghini Huracan, because the cx value drops from 0.39 to 0.28.
