Following the excesses that occurred during the North derby between Lens and Lille last weekend, the Racing management made strong decisions.
Last Saturday, at the Stade Bollaert, the Lens-Lille match was to be a great celebration for French football. Except that because of the incidents caused by the Lensois and Lille supporters, this meeting of the L1 turned into a nightmare… Which obviously displeased the direction of Lens. Especially since the disciplinary committee of the LFP pronounced two games behind closed doors for Bollaert, before possible additional sanctions. A real prejudice for Lens, since the RCL will lose two million turnover with these meetings without its supporters, while having an invoice of 25,000 euros in material damage. In any case, after this affair, Lens will mark the occasion. And for this, the RCL will pronounce stadium bans, and in particular for the first 17 sanctioned supporters. In any case, this is the announcement made by Arnaud Pouille.
“A stadium ban for any identified person”
“All the measures and sanctions decided by the club governance are part of the arsenal at our disposal. We are dealing with individual sanctions of two types. Or the activation of the legal system of the Larrivé law with a stadium ban for any identified person who has entered the field. These measures will not support exceptions, even if I am told that out of the hundred people, there are conventional supporters with the ultras. We will not compromise on this point. They will range from 9 to 36 months of prohibition, the maximum that we can apply. For all violent, inappropriate gestures, relating to exhibitionism, the apology of Nazism and any form of deviant behavior, a complaint will be filed by the club, either nominative or against X. We have been warned that we will put in place official recognition of sanctions with many constraints to avoid the “independent” phenomenon. We want to have the right interlocutors to build but also for analysis and sanction the individuals who mess up every time ”, threw, in press conference, the general manager of Lens, who also advises his supporters to go to Marseille, just to move on.
