It should be remembered that last Wednesday the Prosecutor’s Office closed the investigation against the leader of the Coordinadora Arauco Malleco (CAM), by State Security Law.
Héctor Llaitul is being investigated for a crime of incitement, two of apology for violence, two of usurpation and another two of attacks on authority.
At the beginning of the hearing, Llaitul’s defense attorney withdrew the request for dismissal and warned the Prosecutor’s Office to close the investigation, to which, at the hearing, prosecutor Héctor Leiva announced the closure of this instance.
It should be noted that the period of the investigation had already ended, however, the Prosecutor’s Office was not obliged to close it until it was warned.
This article describes an ongoing judicial process. There is a possibility that the charges will be dismissed at the end of the investigation, for which reason the defendant(s) should NOT be considered guilty until the Justice dictate sentence against him.
