Los Angeles company is sanctioned for anti-union practices: it will not be able to sign agreements with the State

A transport company from the province of Bío Bío was sanctioned for Justice for engaging in anti-union practices against workers. After this, it will not be able to sign agreements with the State.

The transport company Aquiles Castro of Los Ángeles -Bío Bío region- was sentenced for anti-union practices.

Specifically it was because it generated unregulated collective agreements and agreements that harmed the union when it wanted to start a legal negotiation.

It did not obtain the necessary minimum number of workers for this, so the leaders filed a complaint with the provincial labor inspectorate in Bío Bío.

This last state department sent the information to the Court of Letters and Labor of Los Angeles, who sentenced the transport company Aquiles Castro for anti-union practices.

This was confirmed to La Radio by the president of the National Federation of Forest Transport Unions (Fenasitranfor), Heriberto Lopez.

“Unregulated collective agreements began to be generated, which are outside the law, with the majority of workers. And when the union of the company wanted to negotiate collectively, they challenged the negotiation for not complying with the quorum, and that quorum was not fulfilled because the company had already organized the workers with these unregulated agreements(…)”, he explained.

López added that one of the sanctions established by the judicial body is that as a company they will not be able to sign agreements with the State.

Radio tried to hear a pronouncement from the sanctioned company, however, there was no response.
