The long-awaited Meisenthal 2022 Christmas bauble, in glass, has just been unveiled. This year, the world-famous Moselle glassworks is playing the savvy card, both literally and figuratively, with a contemporary Christmas ball, inspired by the characteristic details of industrial glass bottles.
A collector’s ball, baptized Extra, a sort of refined assembly. of two bottle ends, with its edges of small ribs and its reflections of daylight which pierces it and invites you to travel. The work has been imagined by the Belgian-Luxembourgish designer Nicolas Verschaeve as a “background diversion” and a tribute to industrial genius and local know-how.
A visit that is worth the detour
It is possible and even recommended to acquire it at the Center international d’art verrier in; Meisenthal, then, later, on their website, at a price of 24 euros. The opportunity also for the many visitors to discover for almost two hours the brand new visit route, completely renovated. the Glass Museum, with its blowing demonstrations, its glass roof, the heritage and know-how of the valley… Or at default, if you are patient and lucky, on the chalets of the Christmas markets of the Meisenthal glassworks in the region and, of course, on that of Strasbourg, which opens its Doors November 25th.
