Leaders of the opposition in Ontario are criticizing Premier Doug Ford for his comments on immigration.
Ford was in Tecumseh near Windsor, Ont., On Monday to announce funding for a new hospital project in the area.
Following the announcement, Ford launched a familiar line on Ontario’s biggest problem, the shortage of workers, especially in trade and construction.

People who want to work should come to Ontario, he said.
“You come here like all the other new Canadians come here. You work your tail off,” Ford said.
“If you think you’re coming to collect the doll and sit around, don’t. Go somewhere else. You want to work. Come here. We have so much work to do. We can’t keep up with it now.”
NDP leader Andrea Horvath tweeted that Ford should apologize.
“Today, Doug Ford has chosen traffic to mock stereotypes about new Ontarians looking to build a better life for their families,” he wrote.
“Our diverse, welcoming province is great.”
Liberal leader Steven Del Duca also called on the prime minister to apologize, saying the comments were “disgusting”.
“This kind of divisive language is extremely frustrating,” he said.
“Premier Ontarians should be united, not further away from us.”
