The virtual range of Pininfarina expands with the debut of the new Teorema. Virtual? Yes, because it is one concept car which to date has not yet been confirmed for series production. The Italian company has decided to exploit a large part of the partnership that still has in place to give life to a new conceptual car, which relies on already existing technologies and which is based on a 100% electric platform built by Benteler Electric Drive System.
Pininfarina will design Gaussin’s electric trucks
The organization of the spaces inside the passenger compartment is extremely innovative: it is one five-seater virtual concept car, with the driver isolated in the first row and the other four passengers seated on the same number of single Poltrona Frau seats arranged in two rows. Another novelty is represented by the mode of entry inside this concept car: goodbye to traditional doors, which disappear and leave room for a system that opens the rear area and the roof to allow the occupants to place their feet directly inside. So that each passenger can sit in their own seat, the Italian company has decided to install a floor that lights up and shows the way to the occupants of the vehicle. Behind each seat, then, there is a light unit, which changes color depending on whether the car is set in autonomous driving mode (blue light) or with driver driving (red light).

Efficiency, technology, but also three driving modes available to the driver. Starting with Autonomy, thanks to which the vehicle drives automatically and the driver can turn around with his seat to interact with the other occupants of the vehicle. We then move on to Drive, where driving is no longer autonomous but assisted, with the driver who then takes control of the car through two joysticks with which he can manage the acceleration, braking and steering phases. Finally, there is the Rest mode, thanks to which the interiors modify their spaces to allow greater comfort and interaction between passengers. “It is a hive of innovative ideas, a showcase of new technologies that allow you to create an almost entirely virtual car“, commented the CEO of Pininfarina, Silvio Pietro Angori.
