It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, the same prosecutor Francisco Barbosa indicated that there is a “special interest” of the control entity in investigating cases of alleged corruption within the local government and that at that time was led by the now suspended, Daniel Quintero Calle.

In March, he announced the opening of a special investigation group, and within the framework of this act, he did not hide his intentions and those of the institution in “clarifying what is happening in Medellín, which means that there is a judicial response address those issues” and adding at the time that, if we find no evidence of alleged irregularities, we will “archive” such investigations.

For now, The mayor in charge Restrepo has not commented on this fact on his social networks; however, he recently announced the modification of the Dry Law for the elections corresponding to the first round that will take place next Sunday, May 29.

In addition, he indicated that he was notified by the Minister of the Interior, Daniel Palacios, about the change in this measure: “Medellín welcomes and complies with the new decree. We ensure safe election day ”, he assured. It should be noted that bar and nightclub associations had requested that the day start later due to the Liverpool-Real Madrid match, corresponding to the UEFA Champions League final.
