Prostatic hyperplasia is one of the most frequent male pathologies, as it is closely linked to aging. The prevalence of this disease increases over the years; in fact, if it is present in about 5% of 40-year-old males, it increases up to 50% in 50-60-year-olds, and in over 80% in those over 80 years old; it has also been estimated that in Italy more than 6 million people suffer from prostatic hyperplasia.
