Spotted a new serial code for PS5 units.
According to what reported by Press-Start, PS5 Digital Edition it should receive a slight upgrade by becoming 300 grams lighter and include a new screw for the base mount that can be adjusted without the use of a screwdriver.
Oddly, this update was never reported to PS5 standard, but it appears that this too has been updated in a similar way. Press-Start can confirm that all of the Australian PS5 stock that landed in the country last week contains a new model number (CFI-1102A).
A buyer confirmed that this new model does indeed include the new screw which can be adjusted by hand (and doesn’t require a screwdriver) and while we can’t confirm at this time, the console is assumed to be slightly lighter than the original PS5 model. .
