Tyler Naquin fired. hit a home run in the fifth inning and scored on Kyle Farmer’s RBI single in the eighth, helping the Cincinnati Reds beat the Guardians 4-2 Thursday to sweep neighboring Ohio in a series for the first time since 2014.
The Reds won both games in the series showing positive signs after starting the campaign with a record of 3-21. They are 8-5 since May 5.
Cincinnati broke the record. tied it 1-1 with a three-run rally in the eighth against Trevor Stephan (2-1), who gave up a run. three straight singles to open the inning and made a poor throw to first base after fielding a bunt.
