The fun account of the bird of prey has more and more followers on Twitter.

Remscheid. Remscheid has a new social media star – even if he doesn’t know anything about it and is probably sitting by a stream and squinting at fish: The once again escaped giant sea eagle Grobi from the Bergisch Land falconry is developing into an internet phenomenon. Also thanks to our own Twitter account, where we can share wisdom (“If your only tool is a huge beak, all problems look like delicious little fish”) and playlists (including “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz).
Behind this, of course, is neither Grobi himself nor his falconry keepers, but a group from Wuppertal around the author Lukas Diestel. On Sunday evening he set up the account spontaneously, reports Diestel, not least inspired by the bird’s grim gaze: “That was probably also the desire to exploit something like that on Twitter.” The content, in turn, is controlled by the members of a “WhatsApp- Group with media-savvy friends from the Bergisches Land “, explains the Wuppertal:” I also don’t know exactly who is behind which tweet. “
It’s always just “Who saw the giant sea eagle Grobie?” and never “What did the giant sea eagle Grobie see?”

The network doesn’t seem to care, Grobi – spelled “Grobie” in the account name – was welcomed with open arms on the short message service. On Monday morning alone, the number of followers almost doubled. And it continues to rise. The bird of prey’s slightly weird humor seems to be catching on.
There are allusions to Greek mythology (“You just saw a guy with wax wings mega close to the sun.”), The request for an alibi to be able to hiss a few crab rolls on the North Sea, and on Sunday evening the bird finds out : “Curfew for people from 9 p.m. the streets now belong to the giant sea eagles”.
Remscheid: Tweets from Grobi (e) distract from the corona situation
The makers behind the account are a little surprised that this is so well received. Lukas Diestel, who has more than 9000 followers on Twitter himself, does not envy his creation’s quick success: “He can get as many followers as he likes.” It is nice that people are aware of the tweets of the current situation get distracted: “This is something different.”
Diestel does not yet know how things will continue with Vogel and Twitter accounts: “We don’t really have a plan.” In any case, the first thing is that Grobi is found safe: “We all hope, of course, that he is fine . “When the eagle is back in the falconry, the fun on Twitter is probably over for the time being, says Lukas Diestel:” But who knows, maybe he’ll run away again. “
