Most Russians cited lack of money as the main reason they decided to skip this year’s vacation. This became known from the study of the travel and travel service “Tutu.ru”, which was received by the editorial office of “Lenta.ru”.
Thus, more than half of the survey participants (51 percent) refused to go somewhere on vacation due to lack of funds. The second most common response is reluctance to travel due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some Russians admitted that they are afraid of contracting the coronavirus, others are afraid of the restrictions imposed in the regions and countries open to visiting.
Five percent of respondents explained their refusal to travel by plans to save money for various purposes (repairs, medical treatment, education) or by the need to pay off the mortgage. The same number of respondents stated that they prefer to relax at home on the couch over travel.
Another 11 percent of Russians noted that their vacation plans were interfered with by work. Thus, four percent of respondents got a new job, the same number of survey participants consider themselves to be workaholics, and three percent of Russians did not go on vacation.
