The former senator and provincial secretary of the Democratic Party of Latina, Claudio Moscardelli, and the manager of the local Asl Claudio Rainone have been subjected to pre-trial detention under house arrest on the basis of the order ordered by the investigating judge of the Latina Court because they were accused of corruption and disclosure of official secrecy, in an investigation into alleged rigged contests.
The investigation concerns the alleged irregularities found for the public competition for qualifications and exams for the permanent coverage of 23 positions of professional administrative collaborator – Cat. D, announced in aggregate form between Local health authorities of Frosinone, Latina and Viterbo. The chairman of the commission of the competition in question, Rainone, had been reached by a similar precautionary measure on 21 May last.
Moscardelli is accused of having “sponsored” two participants in the ASL competition linked to the Democratic Party, causing Rainone to indicate to them the questions that would be asked. In return, he would reward Rainone himself by pushing for his appointment as administrative director, an assignment that the latter actually obtained. After the disclosure of the news of the arrest, Moscardelli he resigned from the role of provincial secretary of Latina.
After the first investigations, on 21 May last, Rainone and the secretary of the commission for the competition in question ended up under house arrest for the crimes of forgery and disclosure of official secrecy. In particular, the President of the Commission, in the days before the oral exam, according to the prosecutor he had revealed the topics that would be examined.
