The objective of this project is to reduce the garbage that reaches landfills through recycling. Before this, San Rosendo had no place to recycle.
In San Rosendo, the challenge of having a community without garbage began through a program promoted by CMPC that seeks to reduce the amount of waste that reaches landfills and dumps, through recycling.
At the launching ceremony, the papers and cardboard from the schools were removed, which was counted together with the papers that the community brought and placed in the container in the square, which added a total of 580 kilos of both materials .
The person in charge of the environmental workshops at the Isidora Aguirre High School in San Rosendo, Katherine Pino, appreciated the initiative, since they did not have a physical place to collect recycling.< /strong>
Similar opinion had the neighbor Irene Bastidas, who stressed that it is a good for the entire community.
The boss of corporate affairs of CMPC in Laja, Horacio Pérez, indicated that this program is carried out in all the communes where pulp has industrial and forestry development.
