The villain was created by writer David Micheline and artist George Pérez. His first appearance in Marvel comics was in The Avengers # 196 publication, in May 1980.

The villain’s real name is Anthony Masters. He got his powers thanks to a compound made from adrenal steroid cortisol that completely unlocked his muscle memory, so he can copy physical movements in an extraordinary way.
What’s more, he trained his teammates, Death-Shield, Jagged Bow Y Blood spider, so that they copy the fighting styles of some superheroes such as Captain America, Hawkeye and Spiderman, respectively.
