The declination of the innovation-sustainability combination in the aerospace industry, key theme of Expo 2020 Dubai, is at the center of the agreement with which Avio becomes Gold Sponsor of the Italian Pavilion at the next Universal Exposition, starting on 1st October. The agreement between the Italian company and the Commissariat for the participation of our country in Expo Dubai was signed this morning in the Colleferro plants, in the province of Rome, by Giulio Ranzo, CEO of Avio Spa, and by Commissioner Paolo Glisenti, in the presence of the President of the Italian Space Agency, Giorgio Saccoccia, the Secretary of the Comint, General Luigi De Leverano, and the regional councilor for economic development, trade and crafts, research and innovation, Paolo Orneli.
“Being present in the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is a source of great pride for us, it represents Italian excellence and Avio is proud to be part of it ” stated the CEO of Avio. “The United Arab Emirates – Ranzo observed – are investing heavily in research and space technology and have launched very respectable programs. The Hope probe in orbit around Mars is the ultimate testimony of all this“and for the manager “Expo Dubai will be an opportunity to strengthen key international partnerships for the growth of the sector and to achieve ever more ambitious goals “.
The theme of Space, Commissioner Paolo Glisenti pointed out, “is transversal and will characterize the entire semester of Expo Dubai, also involving life sciences, agriculture, food, defense, security, connectivity. The economy of space will therefore be a crucial issue and a constant excursion into the culture of innovation “.” Today, space proves to have an economic, diplomatic and technological value equal to no other sector “added Glisenti.
Avio will bring to the Italian Pavilion a model of the Vega launcher which recalls a monumental monolithic in shape and which will represent space explorations within the Innovation Observatory. With its participation in key events during the exhibition semester, the company will promote the same values of sustainable development expressed by the Italian Pavilion at Expo Dubai.
