Presidential candidate Gustavo Petro has a very complicated task if he intends to overtake his rival Rodolfo Hernández in the next elections.
Gustavo Petro and his team are concentrating on the second round of the presidential elections, and they have a lot of work to do, because so far the polls have declared Rodolfo Hernández the winner.
Both analysts , as citizens and journalists agree that the former mayor of Bucaramanga has an advantage because he has all the votes of Uribismo. That is why the candidate of the Historical Pact has sought alliances everywhere and has invited his supporters to do the same.
But, one of the most recurrent analyzes suggests that It will be difficult for Petro to gain supporters due to the recurring attacks by some of his most faithful followers, who already border on fanaticism, against possible political opponents.
In this regard, the journalist Félix de Bedout shared a brief opinion through his Twitter account that had a significant impact on public opinion, which is still immersed in the discussion of the current situation of national politics due to the presidential elections.
“Some day someone will analyze the damage that the petrismo barra brava has done to Petro’s political project”, was what the renowned 57-year-old journalist with media outlets such as W Radio, Noticias Uno, among others.
Several users showed support for Bedout’s words, and one of the most prominent was fellow journalist Daniel Coronell, who responded to the trill by stating: “And Petro himself lacked the strength to disavow him and move away from him; he let it prosper passively.”
This ‘ Barra Brava ‘ term used by Félix de Bedout was taken up by one of the strategists of the presidential campaign of the candidate of the Historical Pact. It is about Alfonso Prada, which sent a clear message to Petrista supporters who have dedicated themselves to attacking all those from sectors that are not related to their proposals or ideology.
Prada asked these supporters to prioritize arguments over attacks, or else the goal of reaching the presidency will be complicated for Gustavo Petro.
“The brave bars tell them to calm down because this is won with arguments, not with baseness. Be careful with that.On the other hand: it is not a low blow to affirm that the Uribista vote is with Hernández. That is an easily demonstrable fact. The electoral map indicates so.”, he indicated on his Twitter account and accompanied it with a video in which he argues before Canal Capital panelists why he believes that supporters of former President Álvaro Uribe will accompany Rodolfo Hernández in the second round.< /p>
“The Uribe vote led him (Rodolfo Hernández) to go to the second round; and superimpose the map with the NO votes and it fully coincides with Rodolfo’s vote”, he adds in the video.
Alfonso Prada invited the petristas barra brava to prioritize arguments over attacks.
It should be remembered that Alfonso Prada was introduced by Gustavo Petro as his new head of debate on April 6. This announcement represents the support of the saints for the campaign of the candidate of the Historical Pact.
Among its tasks, Prada must strengthen the proposals, coordinate the preparation of Petro and articulate the arguments of the campaign in the presidential debate. But, in addition to everything, it works in an articulated way with members of the political party to defend the peace agreements signed by former President Santos with the extinct FARC guerrilla.
“ The change for life is a change for peace. The Pact is with Colombia, that is why multiple voices have a place here. Today, our head of debate, Alfonso Prada, joins this project to transform Colombia”, expressed Petro.
